March News

We moved grandma's hutch into the living room/dining area last week and I put V's dishes into it.  Mark painted it red for me a long time ago but we just painted the inside white again to help make the inside pop.  And we did all that because:
I love this new (old) hutch that Flea Market to Fabulous made beautiful again.  All the blue willow went into it and we're filling up the storage in the bottom :)
My sweet friends know how much we rely on bacon these days and they think of me when they run across bacon dishtowels. I love dishtowels anyway and then they're bacon dishtowels, even better!
This little daffodil is determined!  We have to make sure he gets planted properly this year.
Kyle and Judson playing chess.  Mark was so happy that Kyle is interested in chess that he bought a new set to have here at the house too.
It's so good to have the kids nearby now.
Betsy's drawing of her mom coming home from Target :)

Fabulous New Mirror by Deb

Love my new mirror  by Deb Goetz over at Flea Market to Fabulous.  She's an artist with a paintbrush . . . and a hammer, and screws, and glass, and mirrors. . . whatever it takes.  Thanks Deb!

I originally thought I would hang this new piece in our smaller bedroom.  But once I got it home, it just really needed to hang in the hallway--where it would reflect granddaddy's hat (Betsy & Kyle's great great grandfather!), mammy's Jesus picture (Betsy & Kyle's great great GREAT grandmother!), and the picture of the poets that I found years ago in a junk find with my mom--"only" their great grandmother :-)

I've got my eye on yet another green shelf at F2F . . .  Look for me next time you're shopping there!

Fabulous Find

I found this really cool piece at F2F a couple of weeks ago.  It had some glass votive holders in the holes and was labeled a candleholder, but obviously it was  meant to be a flower container. . . a really cool flower container!

This Time Last Year

This time last year, my mom and sis were in Springfield to visit.  Here they are with my mother-in-law V in front of Flea Market to Fabulous.  I'm going up to see them next weekend :-)

Talking Shelf

Did you know that you can get talking furniture right here in Springfield, IL?  I saw  this little shelf  over at Flea Market to Fabulous and all week I've been hearing it say things like "come and get me"  and "take me home with you".  So I did!  and now I have a really cute shelf beside the vanity to hold a bunch of my stuff.  Now if it keeps talking to me, I may have a problem. . .

One last shot of the fundraiser going on at Flea Market to Fabulous.  Can't wait to see what they'll come up with next!  I'll keep you posted :-)

More from the Flea Market that's Fabulous

Did I mention that in addition to storm damage, F2F also had a malfunction with their website?  What luck.  But maybe for the best, cause now they are in the process of switching over to this site here.   I plan to go back over this weekend.  There was a little shelf that I swear has been sending messages to me ever since I saw it last week!

Pink Pink

Just love this fundraising project!  Such fun pieces. . . And fun to see who's bidding, what the numbers are up to. . .  Makes you feel good about shopping!

Silent Auction

Okay, as promised, here's the Flea Market to Fabulous fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness this month.   They have ten pieces scattered throughout the shop and not a dud in the bunch!  I'll post a few more over the next few days.

F2F

Flea Market to Fabulous's fabulous old corner building was damaged in a big storm a while back.  Sounds like it may take awhile to get it repaired and safe to use again.   Fortunately, they were able  to move everything into the back building and they made it look really fab back there too.  Tomorrow I'll show you what they're up to for Breast Cancer Awareness month!

From Flea Market to Fabulous

Mama and PJ are here with me for two too-short days. We went to this new shop yesterday and had so much fun. Lots of old stuff put together in new ways and lots of beautiful florals.
Notice the suitcase hanging outside the window. I have an old suitcase. Wonder what Mark would think if I proposed this as our next project?
