State Fair 2019

Betsy wanted to head to the rides first thing ;)
Betsy, cousin Aleigha, and Mark on something called The Guitar.  Yikes!
We did do a few other things too.  Here Betsy is meeting the butter cow for the first time.
I wouldn't mind getting my face painted one day.  They looked so cute!  Plus we got to sit in an air conditioned building while they had it done!
And the famous pork chop on a stick :)

Blue Ribbon Winner

When we go to the state fair, Mark is always a good sport about going to the floraculture building first.  If I had enough energy, I'd go to the fair every day just to see the floral design competitions.    I didn't get the designer's name, but this one won a blue ribbon and of all the designs and categories that were displayed on the day we were there, this was my favorite.

State Fair Fountain

Our walking group met at the grandstand a couple of times to practice the Abe's course. This water feature was being built while we were there. It's brand new, so the plantings look a little sparse, but I love the way it turned out! In the background is the pork tent. Another one of our favorites at the fair!

Abe's Amble

Well, we walked the whole 6.2 miles and survived! So many people there! Jo-An and I are in the middle of the second shot. The lady in the green ahead of us is Pam, who also works with us.
