Fall & Halloween Report

Is fall really over and it's time to get ready for the holidays? Apparently so!

Mama's little witch made into a wreath.
I love these ferns in the front pot.  I can't find the pic with fall leaves woven through.  I think these will get to stay through the winter and into next summer.

Isaac grew this pumpkin, he had an amazing garden this year!
Another of Isaac's pumpkins for Thanksgiving.  The plan is to cook this one!

Found in a tub down in the basement--Isaac's Mario Eldwin.  He'll go to Oceanna for her third birthday coming up. He makes my heart sing, she will love him.

Fall 2021

Murphy is growing growing and he has the funniest howl!  I call him Superman because he can fly faster than a speeding bullet!

The front door morphing into Halloween. . .

Mama's cute witch. . .
Look how big he is!  Fifty-seven pounds this morning.
The pumpkins have been morphing too, I love the feathers :)

It's November!

Well, there was Halloween. . .

Mama's Lady Liberty Angel posted for Election Day 2020.
It was a nerve-wracking week waiting for the results.

And a couple wreaths going to Petals & Co. where we're getting ready for the holiday open house.
We've been having gorgeous fall weather lately,
but our Christmas tree is going to be making an appearance soon!

A Little Halloween

Mama's little witch on the dining table.
I'm still trying to find the right spot for a wreath on the new front door.  In the meantime, I filled PJ's birdcage with some pumpkins and topped it with an old crow.

Halloween

We missed these trick-or-treaters last night!  The weather was perfect and I know they had fun.
Looks like Kyle might have had a costume change from zombie to baseball player.  I know Mark was thrilled to see Kyle dressing up like a Cub player for his career day at school.

And Miss Betsy was a pop star for her career choice.  Love those leggings!

So we missed seeing the neighbor kids for Halloween too.  We opted out of Halloween candy altogether this year.  Having a big bowl of chocolate in the house?  Not happening these days.  My very favorite trick-or-treaters are the kids of the kids that our kids grew up with.  Mike's kids, Dan's kids, Travis--it's always fun to see the little ones excited and growing up.

We did get to see Drew's little Sawyer this week.  He is four weeks old and such a little cutie.  I want to see him at my front door next year.   We have to think of something non-candy to give away  so we get to be a part of the neighborhood mingling.  And now on to Thanksgiving :)

Halloween

It's a keto halloween so that means costumes, not candy!  Fran and I went to Witches Night Out, a local fundraiser to benefit services for women in Springfield.  We definitely want to go again next year.    And here's my favorite witch of all time:

Halloween Report

It was an extra fun Halloween this year with Betsy & Kyle here.  They make every day a holiday :)

Kyle took his role as power ranger very seriously.   He was kinda proud of the six pack abs!  And Betsy was the most excited angel ever :)
I loved the flags for Halloween.  They looked so cute and were super easy to put up, take down, and store away.  The ghost was most popular on facebook.  If you'd like flags for your next Halloween, I can hook you up with my friend Michelle at Petals & Co  :)

This Is As Halloween As It Gets

We had a wonderful vacation and are back home now.  Everybody keeps asking "are you having fun now that you're retired?"  And the answer is  yes & no.  Yes because we've gone to the lake for two whole weeks, because I am definitely letting go of feeling responsible for everything bad that can possibly happen in a little psychiatric hospital, and because I have a lot more time for pinterest :)
And no, not so much.  I miss morning coffee when we're all going over what happened last night & what we have to do for the day,  salads for lunch with Nat & Fran,  mid-afternoon chocolate when everybody needs a break from the stress. I miss my team. . .  On the other hand, I have a lot more time for pinterest :)
So today, I bought a few pumpkins and pulled out the halloween stuff from the basement. And I may make a little halloween arrangement for the kitchen, but I think this is about it for now.

Tomorrow I'll start a week of training for a new part-time job.  'Cause I'm still a social worker at heart and I'm not really ready to be completely retired just yet.  But this time,  less stress and not so much worrying.   Even this little bit of retirement has taught me that :)

Halloween Eve

It's been a really nice weekend.  We went to see Elphaba and Glinda yesterday.  They were fabulous, as always.  We are already thinking about when we can go to see them again.

Today we cleaned on the yard a little bit, shopped for groceries, and Mark went with me to work (on a Sunday!) to hang a shelf in my new office.  He's the best, as always.

Tomorrow is Halloween.  We bought some candy--just for the trick-or-treaters, you know.  Not sure the weather is going to be as nice as last year--we hope Parker and Hannah will come to scare us again.  And we will be looking for pictures of Betsy and Kyle, as always :)

It Was Happy :)

We had fun last night--lots more trick or treaters than the last few years.    It was so nice to see Travis and Dan with their families.  Since we didn't have our boys here, seeing them was the next best thing.  Our Betsy & Kyle celebrated Halloween last night with Micky Mouse at Disney World.  Can't wait to see those pictures!
