Those Boys

Judson found a new hobby--Su Doku, and here's Isaac with Zoey. It was so good to have everybody here this weekend. We had a great time!

This little snowlady came all the way from Lexington to spend the winter with us. Love her purple spike heels!

Some Things are Happy

It was so nice outside this morning. Made me feel bad that I've complained so much lately. It's Wednesday before Thanksgiving, the survey at work is ending today, and everybody's coming for the holiday. Today is a good day. I snapped these shots of foxglove and hellebores, which look really good and make me look forward to their blooms this spring. And of course, the weeds are thriving too. That's okay. I'll take them.

Summer 2004

I know that fall is a beautiful time of year. And winter too. But I miss my summer garden sooooo much. This is a shot from last summer. PJ and mama gave me the birdhouse.

Frozen Blooms

There were a lot of buds left on the iris, but we had a hard freeze and they're gone. Look at that clean lawn! Mark has worked and worked out there.

2004 Lily

Mark took this is a picture last summer. The squirrels nearly dug them up last fall, so they didn't come back well for us this year. I believe they were Centerfold from Van Engelen.

Leaves in the Birdbath

My Very Very Favorite of the Day

This was taken a couple of days ago. Any daylily that tries this hard this late in the season has to be my favorite (for the moment, anyway). It's a little one from Lexington's daylily society sale. All those buds--which are probably frozen this morning.

Peggy's New Turkey

Isn't he cute??? I love his beak. And the pumpkin. He's a Springfield turkey, because his hat looks like Lincoln's. My ma, the artist!

Last Anenome

This is a little spring-blooming anenome, but apparently it reblooms sporadically throughout the summer/fall. It's so sweet, especially now.

Camouflage

Kelly-dog matches the needles that have fallen from the hemlock tree. She's looking for rabbits here.

It's Friday!

Beautiful weather! The hostas turned golden overnight. These are Elegans, surrounding a purple rex begonia. I've been wondering if I might try to overwinter the begonia in the basement.

This is a fun little vase to put together. It went to Cindy for her birthday.
