Spring at The Farm

This weekend is The Farm's Spring Open House!  Love these pictures of my mama's work.
She says The Farm is the best venue ever.  I agree :)

Handmade by Peggy

Mama's primitives went to The Farm last weekend and they looked so cute!

I'm thinking they'll all get new homes for Christmas :)

A Primitive Plot Visits The Farm

I am so proud of my mom Peggy, the artist.  I love her art and she inspires me to make my own.  So when I had the chance to take some of her pieces to The Farm,  I couldn't wait to see what would happen.    Gail is keen on displaying items in her shop according to theme and color, and she knew exactly where she wanted to place them.  And in no time, they had flown out the door!

Things My Mama Sent Me

Mama sent me birthday box last week.  A new-found book--Lulu Meets God and Doubts Him--that's gotta be a good read. . .   A felted bag for carrying a bottle of water--love that green!   And one of her special-made pillows that I LoVe. . .   I put it on the shelf with my sweet pea seeds, cause I'm praying for a bumper crop of those little blooms this spring.

I had a great birthday and while I can wait a while til my next one, I decided that I don't mind  being 55 if it feels this good :)

Home Sweet Home

These beeaaauuuuutiful pillows are by the artist Peggy, also known as my mom.  She made them for my friend Tracy to give as a housewarming gift to her cousin.  But Tracy and I both are thinking we should have kept them for ourselves!  The quilt in the background is one of my favorites, given to me by--of course--my mama!

Mama's Pillows

This is a picture from my mom's booth at The Town Peddler.   She makes the sweetest little  pillows!

Monday Monday

Here's a shot of the artist Peggy's raggedy anns traveling in a vintage suitcase.  She told me the story of how that suitcase traveled to Peoria with her, my grandparents, and my great-grandparents while they were searching for work in the 1940's.  And speaking of suitcases, I have one to unpack today!

Tuesday

The little pillow is one of mama's creations. And look what you can find at your local florist's shop. A perfect stem of dendro orchids with a little bit of plumosa.

Raggedy Andy

Mama made one of these for each of the boys in 1990. Judson was 7 and Ike was 5.

Boy Angel

Another ornament by Peggy. Isn't he adorable? This is one of two that mama sent to the boys in 1996.

A Real Live (Decorated) Tree

Well, I have the tree up and it is actually decorated this year. For the past two years, since both Judson and Isaac are away at school, I just haven't been motivated to go beyond putting up a tree with a few lights. But the organizational bug has hit me. We pulled everything out of the basement and attic that was related to Christmas and went thru it all. This ornament was one that mama made years ago. I love her with her little Detroit Free Press newspaper.
