Happy Anniversary
to Judson and Rachel. Happy happy day to them. This little plaque is tucked in among the grasses in Lori's garden.

Washington Park Sunday
The last time we were at the park, a wedding party was here getting their pictures taken. I wanted to go back to get close-ups of the bed. It's so pretty. Looks like they used Indian Summer rubeckia, pink wave and silver tidal wave petunias, that bright green sweet potato vine, red salvia, victoria blue salvia, and purple fountain grass.

and then here at the very end, are some of those rubeckia with the mahagony eye. I don't know what those are called, but they are pretty too.

Silver Tidal Wave
my favorite petunia of all time. They used it in several places. Here's one with a few tropicals in the middle--have no idea what they are. And I love the ones with the mexical petunia.

Wednesday Daylily
This shot was taken the night we came back home from Lexington. I miss all those people that we just left and think about you everyday!

Garden Flowers
I love going to the florists for those South American and California flowers. They are wonderful--sweet peas in huge bunches (while my crop for this year was a big bust), roses that would make you swoon (as Amy Stewart would say), and exotics that make you wonder how on earth God thought of a flower like that. But this vase of flowers from the back yard is my very favorite. For today, at least.

Last Thursday
I took several of these in last Thursday. That was the day of Jo-An's surgery, and we all needed something colorful and cheerful. Jo-An made it through the surgery, is now up and about and ready for company. Whew! We're so thankful.

It's Hot Out There
This first shot is japanese forest grass. I love it and could have it everywhere. G and Lilla think I planted it just for their snacking pleasure. The second shot is of the container just outside the garage--it has deep purple nicotiana, black pearl ornamental pepper, some kind of ornamental grass, and tidal wave petunias. All but the grass started as my little seedlings.

7-7-07 Weddings
We went to Washington Park last night. It was so so hot and humid, but the bridal parties were there for pictures. Bet they couldn't wait for the air conditioned receptions.

Friday Shots
Tami gave me the upside-down container. That poor little coleus survived the winter inside and is just now starting to thrive. The daylilies in front of the house are the ones from Kathy. I love them with coneflowers. Our front bed is getting a little better, but we have a ways to go to get to my vision for it. The lambs' ear reminds me of the duplex in Nicholasville. This hybrid is huge, and the leaves are just beautiful. It's already outgrown it's spot and needs to be moved.
