Driveway Pots
Here's one of the pots along the driveway. Her skirt needs hemming, otherwise we're going to be driving on it.

Missing Our Girl!
I've been going over our pictures from the last few weeks. It was wonderful having Betsy here for such a nice long visit. I'm sure she's glad to be home though, and her mom and dad glad too. This shot makes me smile.

Thursday Hosta
Love this Yabba Dabba Doo hosta. I didn't know if it would survive last year's digging disaster --brought about by Lilla--but it's gorgeous. Hoping that Lakeside Kaleidescope can make the same comeback, as it too had a digging disaster this year--thanks to Cookie and Gumbo!

Vintage Purses At The Farm
One of my very favorite places of all time. The shop is full of beautiful things right now and the gardens are wonderful as always. If you haven't visited lately, it's time!

Mammy's Birdhouse
Broken in a couple of places, but I still love it. The price, $1.25, is still there, written in pencil. I remember it used to hang in the pine tree in front of her trailer.

Monday Vase
Larkspur in Grandma's vase. This one is going to work with me. In about 30 minutes. Guess I'd better get ready!

Saturday Orange
It's time for orange, don't ya think? So hot and humid. We had BIG rains last night. Everything is happy in the garden.

More from Hitomi Show
Mama and I have been talking about aluminum wire. Here's a ring and a bracelet Hitomi showed us last weekend. They look pretty even without the fresh flowers.

Book Review
I finished Columbine. It kept me up nights. It is a story about the killers, of course, but also about the families, the media, the police. Okay, now on to Elizabeth Berg, who always opens her stories with a big tragedy and ends with survival and love.

Tuesday Night Garden Walk
It was a beautiful evening. The garden is so pretty. Betsy loves being in it and she makes it even better. (Painting that flower pot is going on the to-do list of garden projects.)

More Bouquets
from the Hitomi show. Wish I had one of these for my desk today! They raffled off the pieces at the end of the show. It was running late, so I left early, gave my tickets to Sarah. I hope she won something.

Hitomi
Hitomi Gilliam did an incredible bridal show yesterday in St. Louis. And I got to be there! Every bouquet was luscious. . .

This Is What Happens
when you say, "no, don't play in the dirty water." So today, Betsy played in the fountain all she wanted. And then she got all cleaned up, and she's good as new.

Book Review
Finished Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult. Great story, as usual. I try to make wild guesses as to how she might end her stories, but I'm always surprised.

Okay, You Get to Stay
Here are the lone survivors of the rose purge of 2008: Graham Thomas and St. Cecile. All the others were ripped out when I got tired of blackspot and mildew and japanese beetles and more japanese beetles, along with endless spraying. We kept the right ones. They might even be worth a bottle of rose pride. But just one.

Mammy's Slip
Mammy's slip has hung in my bathroom for years. And years. I don't know why, but I love having it so much. The corsage was mama's suggestion.

Quiet Book
My mama made two quiet books for the boys when they were little, to keep them occupied when we went to church. Some of the pieces were lost; but between the two, we've got enough to make one (almost) complete book. Betsy LOVES taking all the pieces out. She doesn't like putting them back on, but she really likes the taking-it-apart thing.

Monday Betsy Report
Betsy has gone to visit with her Grandpa Kevin and Grandma Joan for the afternoon. And tomorrow is her Grannie Boo Boo's birthday. That Betsy has a full social calendar when she comes to visit us. We have had the best time with her.
