Hanging Amaranthus

This is so beautiful! It would probably be 10 feet tall if it were upright--since it's hanging over, it's probably about 7 feet tall now.

Late Late Lilies

I have been collecting "late" lily bulbs for years, only to have them bloom in June. These are really truly late--and perfect forAugust.

Pawpaw's Little Girl

We had so much fun with Betsy. Every single minute was absolutely wonderful.

Weekend Reading

With all those hours in the car this weekend, I finished Edgar Sawtell and Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Edgar was a sad sad story. The family trained dogs, which was interesting. There were some chapters that were written from his dog Almondine's point of view. Those were beautiful. It started out being sad, it was sad in the middle, and it was sad at the end. But I might read more by the author, because I did like the way he wrote.

I read Twilight because I wanted to see about what all these young girls are reading. And now I know why!

Breakfast at Reva's

There's a wonderful little restaurant in London called Reva's. They have fabulous food and make everybody feel so welcome. Betsy especially likes the mashed potatoes and raisin toast.

State Fair Fountain

Our walking group met at the grandstand a couple of times to practice the Abe's course. This water feature was being built while we were there. It's brand new, so the plantings look a little sparse, but I love the way it turned out! In the background is the pork tent. Another one of our favorites at the fair!

Abe's Amble

Well, we walked the whole 6.2 miles and survived! So many people there! Jo-An and I are in the middle of the second shot. The lady in the green ahead of us is Pam, who also works with us.

Revenge

G Dog was mad at me this morning because we didn't have our usual garden time. So he used one of my books for a chew toy. That'll teach me.

Watching

G Dog has been on his morning patrol, but he's still on the lookout. Never know what might be lurking out there.

August Garden Hunt

I try and try to get good pictures of Lilla and G in the garden, but they are just too too busy to stop and pose.

Frosting Shots

Our newspaper ran an article about frosting shots. Never heard of such a thing, but I was so impressed by this trend that I went right into the kitchen and made a batch of the chocolate frosting. Yum!
